NODA Awards – October 2022
We attended the NODA Awards 2022, where the Westovian Theatre Society was nominated for a few awards for the Pantomime “Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood” and our junior member Luke Pearson received an individual nomination for “Best Youth” for playing the role of Tommy.
We are happy to announce that Luke won his category and the society won TWO Awards – Best Pantomime District Award and Councillors District Award for Pantomime.
It takes a village to put a production together, especially as intricate as a pantomime. To all those people that were involved, from production, technies, front of house and bar staff, backstage crew, the band to the audiences who have supported us. THANK YOU….. we all pulled together after a few difficult years during the pandemic.
A big thank you and goodbye goes to one of our officers Ms Miriam Beber, who is stepping down as the society Secretary after 7 years as she is moving out of the area.
Another big thank you also goes to Mr Ken Allen who is stepping down as the Society Treasurer after 19 years.
He was also awarded, at the AGM in October, the title of “President” of the Society for being an active member for over 62 years, for which he wholeheartedly accepted.
