This policy sets out the basis by which we collect, use and disclose the personal data of our patrons, as well as your rights in respect of such personal information.

We will not utilise your personal information for anything other than what you have given us consent for.
We may share your personal information where we are under a legal obligation to do so, for example where we are required to share information under statute, to prevent fraud and other criminal offences.
We use that information in a number of ways.
1 – To let you know about things that you have asked us to tell you about;
2 – To let you know about other similar events and activities that may be of interest to you;
3 – To let you know about opportunities to support us;
4 – To contact you if we need to obtain or provide extra information;
5 – To complete your booking on ticketing systems (e.g. Ticketsource);
6 – To make sure our records are up to date and to check that you are still happy for us to contact you;

We do not share our email list or other collected information with other organisations and businesses unless where required by law or to carry out our services to you.
We put in place reasonable security measures to protect any unauthorised access or damage to, or disclosure or loss of, your personal information.
Tickets – We use an external organisation, Ticketsource, to book ticket(s), purchase programmes and provide donations. Please see Ticketsource’s Privacy Policy for further information (www.ticketsource.co.uk).
The Visitor Information Centre, South Shields acts as a ticket agent on our behalf. They, as well as our Box Office staff, have access to the Ticketsource system and any of your personal information held within the system. Selected Westovian Theatre Committee members also have access to your personal information stored on Ticketsource to enable us to analyse and report on ticketing data. Wherever possible, this analysis and reporting uses anonymised personal information. Please be assured that we will not share your personal details with other organisations and companies without your consent.
If you choose to receive emails about future events through Ticketsource, your details may be passed onto our Information Manager to be added to our mailing list.
Website – We use cookies on our website to give you the best experience on our website. You have the right not to accept these or turn them off in your browser’s settings, although you may find this affects the functionality of our website. Cookies may store your personal information and be used to personalise content and advertising, to provide social media feature and to analyse our traffic.

We have various forms to contact us on our website, where you can choose to submit an email query to The Westovian Theatre Society to be dealt with by selected Westovian Theatre Society members.

Information that does not need to be accessed on a regular basis, but which should still be retained, will be archived appropriately and securely. Information held for marketing purposes will be kept securely with us until you let us know that you no longer wish to receive this information.
Please note a copy of all correspondence may be kept for future reference but will not be disclosed without your consent outside of The Westovian Theatre Society or our associated organisations if necessary (Ticketsource; Visitor Information Centre, South Shields).

If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal details outside of the law, you can raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk).
We may amend this privacy policy from time to time, for example to keep it up to date or to comply with legal requirements. If there will be any significant change to the use of your personal information in a manner different from that stated, we will seek your consent first.
